KITZ, HERE I COME

He’s a man full of surprises. After his triumph in the Kitzbühel Races in 2018, it was touch and go for Dreßen for a while. After further successes, such as his victory in the Kvitfjell downhill, a horrific fall in Beaver Creek was to follow, resulting in torn knee ligaments and forcing the athlete to take a year’s injury break. But Dreßen wouldn’t have been Dreßen if he had not successfully fought his way back and, a year after his fall, he celebrated his comeback and won the Lake Louise downhill on 30 November 2019.

THE YOUNG LEGEND – A COWBOY ON THE SLOPE

That Dreßen would start off with a victory immediately after his injury break was a surprise not only for his fans, but also for the athlete himself. And, of course, a surprise victory deserves a surprise gift. At the award ceremony in Lake Louise, he was presented with a cowboy hat as befits a legend after such a great triumph. It makes our pleasure even greater to see him once more at our great BOGNER photo shoot posing with the souvenir of his success.

DREßEN’S GREATEST SUCCESS

Hahnenkamm Races 2018

What he achieved in Kitzbühel at the Hahnenkamm Races in 2018 was hitherto unparalleled. The last and, until now, the only German downhill champion was Sepp Ferstl in 1978. Not only that – Dreßen, after Ferstl and Markus Wasmeier, is only the third German to take away more than one downhill trophy in the World Cup.

THOMAS DREßEN ON ADRENALINE

Thomas Dressen: THE speed specialist. For him, not only the speed is fascinating, but all that it brings with it. A certain unpredictability, for instance: Just how fast is the track really? How far do the jumps go? The adrenaline rush is therefore extremely important for him - according to Dressen, it’s an essential factor in competing with speed.

A PASSIONATE ATHLETE

He was born in 1993 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen into a sporting family. His father was a biathlete and his mother a showjumper. Thomas knew right from the start that he wanted to be an alpine skier. That’s why, after leaving primary school, he switched to a sports academy in Austria. He started with the DSV team when he was only 17 and, since then, has gradually fought his way up to the very top. Always passionate, always totally focussed. As his outfitters, BOGNER is proud to be part of the Dreßen story!
